DA MAYOR....

ate at my new favorite beer and pork spot (the publican) last night with some friends and their new baby, Levi. at the table behind us was good old Richard M. Daley eating dinner with Bill Kurtis. when they got up to leave, Lori held up Levi and being the politician he is, Daley stopped by the table to talk and get a photo with the baby. that's me looking shook on the left while Daley talks to Lori. the publican has really good pork rinds, pork belly, pork rib and a great dish of duck fat frites (freedom fries!) with a over easy egg on top not to mention the best waffle ive had in ages. this is going to be my new spot for the next few months for sure.

LUNCH TIME LOVE - CANADA STYLE

spent some time recently in Montreal and Toronto, and being originally from Wisconsin and having a love for cheese curds, i had to drop in on a few dishes of POUTINE while there. start with a dish of fries, add cheese curds on top and finish off with some hot brown gravy.

always free gravy.....

this has nothing to do with poutine but the sign says it all....

OBAMA pt. 2

in addition to the Obama print i did for Upper Playground, i was very excited to get contacted by the actual Obama for America campaign to work on some posters and ads for VOTEFORCHANGE.COM. the work was done through the agency SS+K who organized and art directed it all. the campaign included work by myself as well as Demo, Tristan Eaton, Brian Fynn and many others.

i keep my illustration pretty simple and to the point, the economy is confusing and headed in the wrong direction.

so if by some odd chance you are not registered, please take the time to do it now before its too late. go to VOTEFORCHANGE.COM

NEVER TOO LATE FOR HOPE...

i finally finished up my poster for Upper Playground's Obama print series.

it is available here.

some info from the website:

All proceeds from the sales of the poster will go directly to creating more campaign t-shirts, posters, and stickers by other artists in support of Obama's bid for President. Stay tuned for more Upper Playground projects in support of Barack Obama to be announced up until the election on November 4, 2008.

Cody Hudson’s Barack Obama poster is part of an ongoing series from Upper Playground of artist collaborations in support of Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Upper Playground has endorsed Obama's campaign by creating posters featuring artwork from Justin Bua, David Choe, Grotesk, The Date Farmers, Munk One, Ron English, Alex Pardee, Morning Breath, Mac, Sam Flores, Burlesque Design and Mear One, in addition to printing T-shirts with Shepard Fairey's Obama graphics to help support the campaign.

DZINE X DEITCH X ANDREAS LARSSON X STRUGGLE INC.

Recently designed this 16page 11x17 newsprint "zine" for my friend and former studio mate DZINE. It is a collection of photos shot by the Chicago based photographer Andreas Larsson. It focuses on photos of DZINE's new paintings, some work in progress photos from the studio, and photos and portraits from car and low rider bike shows that the work is inspired by.

it was made in conjunction with his show "the Beautiful Struggle" at the new Deitch gallery in Long Island City. It was made in an edition of 1000 and was given out at the opening, from what i hear all copies are already gone.
